Michael Sibilia has been practicing the art of photography for over 30 years. Recently, his work has begun to evolve in a way that only time and patience can produce. Traveling first in the U.S., then most recently to El Salvador, his assignments bring back a unique view of the world, which he describes as just a hint “During the month of April 2009, I visited the Pueblo of Suchitoto in El Salvador. Working with Casa Clemintina Foundation, I mostly worked on a film set during the days and spent the nights enjoying the town and Easter week celebrations. Shooting under the artificial lighting during the day may have affected how I saw the town at night. During the set work, the color temperature was perfectly balanced, while at night there was no consistency in any of the sources; even the streetlamps had all different types of light. Shooting at mostly 6400 ISO, I let my camera decide what was best by leaving the white balance on auto.”
