The goal of this exhibit, besides showcasing the many and varied talents of local Hudson Valley artists, is to raise funds for an award for a Beacon High School student whose artwork will be shown at The Lofts Gallery in January. A main objective of the Hudson Valley Artisans Guild is to support young artists and promote art education in schools. The members invite the public to view the student show and vote for their favorite work, which the Guild will consider when choosing an award recipient. The BHS Show will run January thru February; dates will be posted on The Lofts site mid December

40 Years Later—Five SUNY New Paltz Grads, opening on Oct. 4 thru Oct. 31, 2014. Sculpture, Photography and Paintings by Peg Borcherdt, Dennis Connors, Jack Murphy, Robert Paschal and Peter Sheehan will be featured. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 4 – 8 p.m.

These BFA/MFA SUNY graduates studied and worked together 40 years ago in the former Tempo-rary Arts Building (TAB) on the New Paltz campus. After a new Fine Arts building was erected, the TAB was turned into private studio spaces for BFA/MFA candidates. This unique opportunity aided students in developing their artworks to the fullest extent. All five graduates continue to live, work and produce artworks in the Hudson Valley—40 years later.
